English Title: Why rabbits live on the moon
This song was written under the theme of "Sanju Gyo Bosatsu Dou Rabbit Immolation" in the Japanese classical literary work "Konjaku Monogatari Shu".
There was a sad and precious reason why rabbits live on the moon.

日本の古典文学作品「今昔物語集」の「三獣行菩薩道兎焼身語」をテーマに書いた曲です。
兎が月に棲んでいるのは、悲しも貴い理由がありました。

「この生で成し遂げることは、優しさを貫くこと」
そう誓った兎はある日　老人と出会った

「どうか空腹から　私を救ってくれ」と

山を越え野を駆けて　獣に追われて逃げながら
だけど何も見つからず　落胆する老人の顔が浮かぶ


優しさを果たせぬのは　誓いを破ること
老人に火を与え　兎はこう言う

「おいしい食事を　すぐに与えます」と

そのまま走り出して　兎は焚き火の中へ
「貴きあなたのために　せめてこの命を差し出します」と


老人は祈る
「この兎のように優しく生きる」と


空から注ぐ光が　兎を包む

空に上る兎は　天の光に拾い上げられ
月の光となって　その優しさで世界を照らしている
